YOUR Meadows are beginning to be sold off… Objections close on 1/3/2018!

The Plan.

The Meadows around Stretford is being “leased” to Salford City F.C. A 4.5m (15′) high fence is planned. That’ll help the view!
The Meadows is OUR place. I would prefer it to remain as it is, a facility that’s free & open to everyone. As it is.

I unfortunately missed the demo outside the Trafford Town Hall Wednesday 21st February, but am now aware of the plans & will be more active in the process.

Objections

The more the merrier. Post is always the preferred option, as it’s a bloody nuisance to have to employ someone to open the letters, read them, and direct them to the appropriate person.

The postal address the letter should be sent to is:

Planning & Development, Trafford Town Hall, Talbot Road, Stretford, M32 0TH.

Email to: development.management@trafford.gov.uk

The words “I object” need to be inserted into your mail to count, as does the application number “93628/FUL/18”, and also your full name & address. Download a template letter to make life easier, if you wish from the search “Friends of Turn Moss” on Facebook, or “saveturnmoss.tumblr.com”.

E-bike plugs.

Found the plugs my bike uses, after a lot of searching. Not too expensive, but I think I’d go with the convenience of a Woosh spare, as it would be a direct replacement, rather than making a lead up. The fewer connections, the better.

Mini-B connector takes the lead in e-bike connector demand

Higo mini-b plugs (page with the plugs seems to be a bit broken)

Burglary Hancock Street, Stretford. 28th March, around 3am.

A car was seen driving round the area at that time, some kind of saloon, by all accounts.

A pedestrian was seen walking downslope towards Bradshaw Lane at the same time as the blag. If that was you, or you think you might know who it was, please call the police (see post).

Far too much of this crap going on…

Update 17th April 2017. Dog now reunited with it’s owners.

An amazing story from WW2.

So they’re not all bad…

WW2 German Ace Stumbled Across a Crippled B-17 and Escorted It Home

Excerpt from the story… “The Christmas Truce of WWII was an excellent example of such humanity, as were the heroic actions of German Luftwaffe fighter pilot Franz Stigler on December 20th, 1943. His actions got nine men home for Christmas. Charlie Brown of the USAAF was a Lt. flying his first mission as an aircraft commander flying a B-17, “Ye Olde Pub” on a bombing run over Bremen. Brown’s bomber occupied the especially dangerous left of the formation, sometimes called the Purple Heart Corner. Bremen was defended by a large contingent of fighters and well-manned flak guns. Two B-17s were quickly struck by heavy flak, and many went down. Brown’s bomber was hit at least once in the left wing. The crew had to shut down an engine which took them out of the formation. Soon they were met by about eight enemy fighters. The B-17 was sometimes referred to as the flying porcupine and Ye Olde Pub sure lived up to The name. the gunners took out at least one of the fighters and as many as three, all on their own. The remaining fighters were still able to take the fight to the bomber, however, and bullets tore through Ye Olde Pub.”…  Read more at War History Online
